Trip Brief

Kitzbühel is one of Austria’s best known and fanciest winter sport resorts, situated between the mountains Hahnenkamm and Kitzbühler Horn, 800 meters above sea level. The Hahnenkamm is home of the annual world cup ski races, including the circuit’s most important event, the downhill race on the famous Streif slope. This downhill is counted as one of the hardest downhill competitions in the world cup.

The northwest facing region is guaranteed snow for top-to-bottom skiing from December to April. Kitzbühel is famous for its smooth, grassy slopes, which require relatively little snow to ensure perfect skiing conditions along its 168 kilometer of immaculate ski runs. Winter sports enthusiasts can also check out the cool fun park where the freestyle skiers can test their skills. Naturally, there are also plenty of alpine taverns (over 50 across the region) where you can stop for a hot beverage and a hearty meal.

56 modern ski lifts are available to whisk you to your favorite slope. Including the new 8-seat chair lift with heated seats. That’s right, heated seats with a per hour capacity of 3,250 people!
