Bad Dürkheim hosts an annual festival you simply cannot miss! It’s one of the largest, most traditional and entertaining public festivals in Europe. Celebrated annually for over 570 years, it is as exciting as ever. Bad Dürkheim is the festival of festivals and considered Rheinland-Pfalz’s main event of the year.

Approximately 50 vendors on the festival grounds offer more than 150 wines; from a mellow Riesling to the finest ice-wine, you’re sure to find a favorite! Pick your desired party environment: a large wine hall, or a traditional “Schubkärchler” (a small wine stand) featuring scrubbed wooden tables worn smooth over the years. If you are looking for an intimate, tranquil environment, head to the “Weindorf” (wine village).

Of course, no matter where you choose to drink your wine, you will definitely enjoy it! The lively entertainment, awesome carnival rides, and countless food stands available at the festival will only add to the enjoyment of your wine.

Do be cautious though, excessive wine mixed with spinning carnival rides can be dangerous!
